Better Days
Jake: This was the first track I ever heard from the guys, and it was the first time I ever submitted something on a music collaboration site. They liked the sample vocals I sent, and now here we are. Dave, Jason, and Tim are really good at creating emotion with music, and I felt it in this song right away. The intro of this song has such a melancholy feel until the last few bars--there, the chords feel optimistic. That's what drove the lyrics and vocals, both in the verses and in the last line: "I hope you find your way to better days."
Dave: In the spirit of you never know what you're going to get with this band, there is this one. Maybe our most adventurous arrangement....so far. This one highlights some progressive rock elements and extended chord shapes. I just liked the way they sounded, so easy! One of the first songs we really polished and finished all the way thru the process, I really like the vocals on this one, and the extended outro with some interesting tips of the hat to the Beatles. Enjoy!
Jason:
Tim: I really love this tune, for me it's a blend of all we do well and has a lot going on that brings out some of our best playing and some of our best creativity. My drum parts lend well to what Dave and Jason came up with for their guitar and bass parts and we really get into a cool groove. I like the fact that the drums sound so big especially when I do the full kit tom runs, they sound so good. Jake is so dynamic with how he lets his singing style just fit right in with the flow of the song, and his lyrics as always are so colorful and paint a beautiful picture. Hope you enjoy it and always appreciate you listening.
Cheers, Timmy P! 😎
